Michał Hrisulidis – born in 1963 in Wrocław, a painter, graphic designer, movie and theatre set designer. A graduate of the High School of Fine Arts in Wrocław; a graduate of The State School of Fine Arts (today the Academy of Fine Arts) in Wrocław, he received a diploma with distinction in 1989. In 2014 he obtained a post-doctoral degree in fine arts in the field of design arts. Currently, a lecturer at Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław; he leads the Workshop of Movie and Theatre Stage Design in the Faculty of Stage Design.
He presented his paintings and drawings on many group exhibitions in Poland and abroad and on over 50 solo exhibitions, among others in: Wrocław, Warsaw, Łódź, Cracow, Toronto (Canada), Berlin, Dresden, Munich, Ludwigshaffen, Herford (Germany), Thessaloniki, Panagia Soumela (Greece), Copenhagen (Denmark), Enkhuizen, Borne, Ulft (the Netherlands), Brussels (Belgium).
He created over 40 set designs for feature films, television theatres, TV series and theatre performances. Works for movies by Jan Jakub Kolski: Cudowne miejsce (Wonderful Place), Historia kina w Popielawach (History of Cinema in Popielawy), Daleko od okna (Keep Away from the Window), Afonia i pszczoły (Afonia and the Bees) and others brought him particular recognition. He was awarded prizes during the 19th Film Festival in Gdynia for co-creating the artistic shape of Cudowne miejsce movie and during the 25th Film Festival in Gdynia for a set design for Daleko od okna movie.
